On This Day in Clay Aiken History....

October 14th 2002:

Clay auditions in Charlotte, NC for a chance to represent his city at the American Idol Auditions in Atlanta. He sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" but was not selected. Fortunately, this did not deter Clay and he decided to go to Atlanta to try out on his own!




October 14, 2003:

Clay's first solo CD "Measure of a Man" is released. It goes on to sell 612,859 copies in it's first week.




Later that afternoon, Clay appeared on TRL to promote his new CD.



October 14, 2007:

Clay attends his good friend Ruben Studdard's concert at the North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh, NC.
